ABOUT US

African Research Center for Livelihood Restoration and Social Responsibility (ARC-LRSR)

African Research Center for Livelihood Restoration and Social Responsibility (ARC-LRSR) is a national NGO registered in 2012. The organization particularly conducts research and run intervention programs targeting mostly vulnerable members of the society including children, persons living with disability and women. The center conducts research and runs interventions on sustainable livelihoods, disaster and emergency preparedness, food security, climate change and adaptation, education, women empowerment, Water Sanitation & Health and democratic governance. The center is actively engaged climate change and adaptation and educational promotional support for the girl child.

ARC-LRSR exists to promote research capacity in Africa to improve the living standards of the poor and marginalized communities and groups especially through ensuring that duty bearers are held accountable and service delivery to their citizens is enhanced.

ABOUT US
ARC-LRSR
The organization is opened to all the citizens of Kenya with focus on women and youths. Almost 70 % of our members are women. Our organization is gender sensitive and follows women empowerment approach. The main target is on poor rural women. ARC-LRSR has been in existence for more than six years. We have extensive experience in microfinance sector, community mobilization and empowerment.
Strategic Priorities
The strategic priorities of ARC-LRSR are:
  • Educational Promotion and protection of children
  • Strengthened organizational research capacity in terms livelihood restoration and social responsibility
  • Promoting food security
  • Greater participation of women in decision making in the government structures.
